I enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1956 and became an electronics technician. I was promoted to 2nd class petty officer (E-5) before I was accepted as a Naval Aviation Cadet (NavCad). I received my commission as an Ensign U.S.N.R. and Naval Aviator in 1962. I remained on active duty until 1972, then transferred to the Naval Air Reserve where I flew until 1988. I was diagnosed with severe depression and because I stupidly smoked for too long, I suffer from emphysema. This job allows me to still be productive and support Veterans and our active duty military troops. I am proud of all who have served and I thank those who still serve.
