I am a U.S. Army Combat Veteran who served in the Army from 2002 until 2010. During this time I spent two tours in Iraq where I received multiple injuries, the most serious being a Traumatic Brain Injury. My injury has placed a lot of limitations on my life and many of the things I did before becoming injured I cannot do because of my continued health problems. I was honorably discharged from the Army and put on permanent medical disability. My wife has encouraged me to become involved in activities that will improve my quality of life and allow me to regain some of the independence that I have lost as a result of my injury. Since I returned from Iraq with my injury my spouse has been actively involved in my healthcare and is my caregiver. There have been many challenges for me as a result of my disability. Both my wife and I started working with the Commoneo Project in the spring of 2010. Working for Commoneo Project gives me the opportunity to contribute financially to my family as well as supporting my recovery by allowing me to work on my small motor control by using my hands and continued cognitive support. My wife and I have been married for six years and have three children living at home with us. My wife and I enjoy working together to make the products.
