04/28/1988 - 06/03/2008

He was from Wind Gap, Pennsylvania.

He served during Operation Enduring Freedom.

On June 3, 2008 in Zormat, Afghanistan, an improvised explosive device struck Spc. Derek Holland's humvee, killing him.

He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and Combat Action Badge for his dedicated service.

Spc. Derek David Holland was a courageous National Guard soldier, a loving son, nephew, cousin and friend. Let us keep his memory always within our hearts.
