    About the Baltimore Ravens

In 1996 professional football returned to Baltimore, Maryland, when Art Modell established the Baltimore Ravens. Art Modell who was the previous owner of the Cleveland Browns, announced his plans of relocating the Browns from Cleveland to Baltimore. As a part of an agreement between the city of Cleveland and the league, Modell was required to leave the history and records of the Browns in Cleveland for a replacement team and replacement personnel. In return, Modell was allowed to take his own team and personnel to Baltimore.

The Ravens are considered as one of the more successful franchise, since joining the NFL. They have qualified in the NFL 10 times since 2000, they have won two Super Bowl titles, two AFC Championship titles, 15 playoff victories, and four AFC North division titles. Also, the Ravens are currently the only team in the NFL to hold the record in multiple Super Bowl and Thanksgiving Day appearances.

    Team Facts

    • In 51 consecutive games (1998 to 2001), the Ravens’ defense did not allow any running back to achieve more than 100 yards.
    • Ted Marchibroda was the first head coach for the Ravens.
    • In 2000, the Ravens’ defense set the record for the fewest points allowed in a 16 game season with 165.
    • Ravens, Americans, Marauders, Mustangs, and Railers are the suggested names for the new Baltimore franchise.

    • The Ravens won two Super Bowl Championships – Super Bowl XXXV and XLVII, two AFC Championships – 2000 and 2012, and four AFC North Division Championships – 2003, 2006, 2011, and 2012.

    Logo History

The Ravens’ first logo featured a raven’s wings outspread on a shield with a letter “B” on it and the wordmark “RAVENS” was written on top of the letter B and a cross bottony underneath it. The Ravens used this logo from 1996 through 1998. After their third season, they changed their logo due to a lawsuit by a security guard who originally designed the logo. He faxed the logo to the team headquarters however, the Ravens had never paid him for his design nor got any credit for his design.

In 1998, the new logo for the Ravens was introduced. Their new logo featured a raven’s head in purple, with a shade of black around the eye, and a black and yellow outline. There’s also a letter “B” written on the head of the raven.

Wear your Ravens paracord bracelet and cheer as loud as you can for your favorite team. Go in and strike with Ravens pride! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!
