  • Here’s a little about the Cowboys that will make you a proud fan and will be proud to wear our Dallas Cowboys bracelet.

The Dallas Cowboys were established in 1960 and they joined the NFL as an expansion team. Since joining the NFL, the franchise has made it to the Super Bowl eight times and has won five times. The Cowboys are tied with the Steelers and Broncos for having the second most Super Bowl appearances in the NFL history. They are tied with the 49ers and Patriots for having the most number of Super Bowl championships.

The Cowboys also have an NFL record of consecutive sell-outs. Since 2002, they have 190 consecutive sold-out regular and post-season games, both home and away. They are the only team in the NFL to hold the record for 20 straight winning seasons, from 1966 – 1985. Although they missed the playoffs in 1974 and 1984, this record remains unbeaten.

In 2014, the Cowboys generated $620 million in revenue, a record for a U.S. sports team and in 2015, they were the first sports team to be named as the most valuable sports team in the world; they were valued at $4 billion. The Cowboys play their home games at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and were headquartered in The Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.

    About the Cowboys’ Logo

The original logo for the Cowboys featured a solid blue star. The team used this logo from 1960 – 1963. In 1964, the appearance of the logo was updated. A white line and blue border was added to the original design, since then the logo remained the same.

Here Are Some Of The Cowboys’ Best Moments:

1972 NFC Divisional Playoffs: Dallas Cowboys vs. San Francisco 49ers

The 1972 NFC Divisional Playoffs between the defending Super Bowl champions Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers is a real shocker. This is the time when “Captain Comeback” Roger Staubach shocks the 49ers. With the 49ers up by 28-13, coach Tom Landry pulled out Craig Morton out of the game in favor of Staubach.  With less than two minutes left in the game, Staubach and the Cowboys immediately went to work.

Staubach made a touchdown pass to Billy Parks and drove the cowboys into position for Ron Sellers’ game-winning 10-yard reception. The Cowboys scored 17 points in the fourth quarter defeating the 49ers with a score of 30-28.

1975 NFC Divisional Playoffs: Dallas Cowboys vs. Minnesota Vikings

The game started off as tight until the Vikings take the lead when running back Brent McClanahan made a one-yard touchdown putting his team up 14-10. Staubach and the Cowboys are not going to give up that easily. With just a minute and 51 seconds left in the game, Staubach converted the 4th-and-16 to Pearson; however the conversion was ruled out as incomplete because Pearson had been forced out of bounds by Minnesota CB Nate Wright. With only 24 seconds remaining in the game, Staubach made a desperate pass in the direction of Pearson which he barely able to come down with for the game-winning fifty-yard touchdown.

The Cowboys shocked the Vikings, winning the game with a score of 17-14. After the game Staubach said, “I closed my eyes and said a Hail Mary”. Since then, the phrase “Hail Mary” has been widely used for last second desperate throw or pass.

1991 NFC Wild Card Round: Cowboys vs. Chicago Bears

The Cowboys claim their first playoff win since 1982 when they defeated the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field during the 1991 NFC Wild Card Round. Troy Aikman and the Cowboys beat the favored Bears with a score of 17-14. Since their win against the Bears, the Cowboys became the most dominant team of the 1990s.

The Cowboys defeated the Buffalo Bills in the Super Bowl the very next year to set a franchise record for wins in a season.

Super Bowl XXX: Cowboys vs. Steelers

The Cowboys start off strong leading the game 10-0 in the first quarter and extending the lead to 13-0 halfway through the second quarter. The Cowboys seemed unstoppable however, the Steelers made a comeback in the second quarter. The Steelers produced 7 points before halftime on O’Donnell’s 6-yard TD pass to wide receiver Yancey Thigpen.

In the third quarter, Cowboys cornerback Larry Brown intercepted O’Donnell’s pass returning the errant throw 44 yards. This gives the Cowboys a chance to increase the lead to 20-7 after a 1-yard touchdown from Smith. The Cowboys took this lead into the fourth quarter and it seems like they will surely take the victory, but the Steelers made another comeback scoring 10 points cutting down the lead to 3. The Steelers stopped the Cowboys in their next possession and for the first time it seems like the Cowboys is in danger of losing. With 4:15 left in the game the Steelers are moving to score another touchdown, however Larry Brown has yet again intercepted a pass from Neil O’Donnell giving the Cowboys another chance to score. The Cowboys beat the Steelers with a score of 27-17 making them the Super Bowl XXX champions. This will be the Cowboys’ fifth Super Bowl.
