Hometown: Indianapolis, IN
Name/Alias: Elizabeth Smith
MOS: 3C031
Unit: 20th Spec. Ops Squadron
Rank: A1C/E-3
Time Served: 3 years
Branch of Service: Air Force
Why I joined the Military: I joined the military out of high school because I wanted to see the world before I settled into the regular college experience. I heard about the Air Force and decided on it because I wanted to help, but I didn’t think I would be able to help much in the Army or Marines or Navy
Why I joined Handmade By Heroes: I was at loose ends, trying to find something to do with myself. My brother-in-law heard about Handmade/Made By Heroes and put me in touch with the company. I found myself enjoying myself with the work and the people I worked with and still do. It’s been really fun.
Message to customers: Thanks so much for everything you guys do for us. You have no idea how much it means to us to help others with the work we do here.
My favorite sports team and why: Minnesota Vikings. They’ve always been my favorite, not sure why, but I’ve never wavered from it. Not even last season.

Thank you so much for my autism medical bracelet, Liz. I feel a lot safer now knowing that if something ever happens to me and I’m unable to communicate with law enforcement (or whoever else) or start to unwillingly panic from being touched, it won’t be automatically assumed that I’m simply resisting or being defiant or whatever. The bracelet looks really nice, too, and doesn’t bother me at all in spite of my sensory issues. Plus it came with a veterans support charm, which I love since my parents served. Thank you again, truly. This bracelet is so simple, but so wonderful.

Liz; I received my PTSD bracelet this week and love the work you did on it. AND you being USAF too! I’m glad you have a found a place that allows you to still enjoy the camaraderie of being around former military. I suffer from PTSD from my service in Vietnam … being a career USAF, retired Disabled VET this will help should an occasion arise. I lost my wife just a year ago and being alone concerned me about having PTSD and not being to explain that fact, now my bracelet is here to help.
